New Era Kinard Softball enters a new era under Coach Waido and 5 year assistant coach Beth Bean that will establish championship caliber individuals both in the classroom and on the softball field. Kinard Softball will establish dominance by focusing on solid defense, fundamental softball, teamwork, and Kinard Character. Softball is a non-cut sport, so come out and participate. You have nothing to lose!!!
Safe Environment At all times the physical safety and mental well being of the player will be the concern of all involved. All sports require physical conditioning. All drills and practice procedures are designed to prepare the player for Middle School competition. Quality conditioning, including strength, flexibility, and aerobic capabilities, has been proven to be an essential means to prevent and guard against possible injury.
Physical and Participation Fee All students playing a sport will need a physical. A yellow physical card will need to be filled out by you and your doctor. Return the physical card to the school or directly to the coaches. We must have this card on file before your student will be allowed to practice. (If you cannot get in to see your regular physician there are clinics that offer school sport physicals). Players must also have proof of school or personal insurance to begin practice. There is a $60.00 PSD participation fee.
No one will be able to practice without a physical or without paying the $60.00 participation fee!
Practice All practices will begin at 3:30 pm and end at 5:15 pm (time for equipment and returning to lockers will be within this time slot.) Players need to be picked up promptly by 5:30pm, no later! The first day of practice is Monday, August 17th. Tryouts begin Tuesday August 18th. The first week will consist of skill building and try-outs for the varsity team. Softball is a non-cut sport so we will have as many teams as we can field. Please notify coaches of any medical needs that are specific to your player (asthma, hearing, etc.)
